Moody's Banking System Outlook - Australia

Wednesday 24 August 2016
Instil is pleased to share Moodys’ latest outlook for the Australian banking system. Please see their “Banking System Outlook – Australia” attached. Highlights of the paper include perspectives on how bank creditworthiness will evolve in the system over the next 12-18 months; in addition to Australian bank sensitivity to slower profit growth, internal and external shocks, low interest rates and moderately increased credit costs. The paper also considers likely constraints in capital generation, higher household indebtedness, and increased “tail risks” in housing.
