FINSIA Professional Banking Fundamentals Program

Monday 8 October 2018
Instil – Engaging bright minds and FINSIA – the professional membership body in Australia and NZ for the financial services industry are pleased to announce an agreement to collaborate in the delivery of professional education to the mutual banking sector. With immediate effect, students from the mutual banking sector can now be enrolled by Instil in the Chartered Banker Professional Banking Fundamentals program.
Launched in June 2018, this program is the first entry point onto a professional pathway leading to Chartered Banker. It develops the essential foundation knowledge required for working in banking. This includes a broad overview of the banking industry and how they operate, banking products, and an understanding of key banking terminology.  The program also explores the key principles of ethical behaviour, and provides tools to help apply them in the work environment.
Developed for the Australian market in close consultation with senior industry practitioners, this internationally recognised professional qualification is accredited by the Chartered Banker Institute (UK). This is the only body in the world able to confer the status of Chartered Banker. Graduates have the ability to use the G FIN post nominal upon successful completion of the course to demonstrate their commitment to professionalism.
During the program, students are enrolled as FINSIA members providing access also to a range of digital publications, events, mentoring, and other professional networking opportunities.
The importance of maintaining the highest professional standards has never been more important for financial service providers in Australia, and Instil is excited to be working with FINSIA in this way to introduce our members to this internationally credentialed qualification.
Chris Whitehead, CEO of FINSIA also notes “FINSIA is committed to raising standards of competency and conduct across financial services. We are delighted to work with Instil who have a strong presence within the mutual banking sector for an aligned purpose. It is important that we have consistent industry-wide high standards. Access to world-leading professional qualifications benefits the staff and members of mutual banks, and will help these banks attract and retain talented individuals.”
Please email Instil CEO Tony Schesser (tony.schesser@instilgroup.com.au) with your expression of interest in the program.
