CUFA the new administrator of the Jack Ross Memorial Trust

Wednesday 19 July 2017
Instil is delighted to announce CUFA has taken on responsibility for administering the Jack Ross Memorial (JRM). The JRM has been a long-time supporter of the annual Instil Industry Strategy Forum, and we look forward to working with CUFA in this new capacity. For over 45 years, CUFA has been supporting the development of mutuals in some of the poorest areas of the Asia Pacific region and is continuing to represent Australian mutuals and the value they bring to their communities. CUFA sees the JRM Trust as yet another way to connect Australian mutuals to the valuable work being carried out in their name.  The JRM Trust was first introduced to honour the memory of John Elliot Ross, a pioneer of the credit union movement in both Queensland and Australia. Jack’s work includes the convening of a meeting of teachers to form Queensland Teachers Credit Union (now QTMB). The JRM Trust was first formed in 1981, with funds donated by mutuals to be applied towards the cost of holding a Jack Ross Memorial Lecture, and to the ongoing education of Credit Union people. Instil looks forward to supporting CUFA in this valuable contribution to the sector.
